BlackBerry Q5 Review Specs – Great Phone for Business Users

BlackBerry will soon regain top spot in the business smartphones category with the launch of Blackberry Q5 – the brand’s budget smartphone. The company debuts the Q5 just a month after its successful launch of BlackBerry Z10.

Let’s take a look at this new addition to QWERTY smartphones by BlackBerry.

Design

The Q5 has an impressive design for a budget smartphone. It’s pretty similar to the Z10 except for one element – the keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard of the Q5 is not identical to that of the Z10.

Display

BlackBerry outfitted the Q5 with a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED display. This high definition screen has a resolution of 720×720 pixels. The pixel density is also very impressive at 328 PPI and comes with a multi-touch feature that will surely delight any user.

CPU

The latest BlackBerry phones use the fastest processor for smartphones, i.e. the Qualcomm Snapdragon, and the Q5 is no different. It’s processor has dual cores and a 1.2GHz clock speed.

Storage

The device comes with 8 gigabytes of internal storage and it can be expanded up to 32 gigabytes using standard micro SD storage card.

Camera

The Q5 comes with a 5-megapixel camera at the rear and a 2-megapixel camera at the front. Both cameras are capable of recording HD videos with 720p ratings. The rear camera is supported by LED flash.

Photo enthusiasts will love the built-in photo editing apps installed by Blackberry.

Data Connectivity

BlackBerry Q5 supports 2G and 3G cellular networks. Unfortunately, the smart phone does not support LTE network.

Other data connectivity channels like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC are supported by the device. It also has a micro USB port for faster data connectivity and transfer.

Battery Life

The device comes with a powerful 2100mAh battery. Because the size of the display is not too big, battery life will definitely be longer than other smart phones with bigger displays like the Z10. If I am not mistaken, battery life is expected to last 14 hours. That’s really outstanding for a smartphone in this price range.

If you are keen to have a BlackBerry Q5 in your hands, you can choose from the three handset colors of Black, White and Red.
