Marketing News: iTrent goes live at University College Plymouth Marjon

University College Plymouth St Mark & St John has gone live with iTrent, the fully integrated HR, payroll and talent management solution from specialist supplier MidlandHR. iTrent has replaced two disparate systems previously used to manage HR and payroll at the University College. These systems often presented issues with reporting and daily HR functions, and were also the cause of clear inefficiencies. Having joined the University College as HR manager in 2008, Lucy Pengelly quickly identified the problems that resulted from running two separate HR and payroll systems. The new starter process in particular was time-consuming and prone to inaccuracy, as data had to be entered separately on each system by the different departments.

Marketing News: Did you know that Google denies all brands save one?

It's time to nourish your brand back to life. Last year saw the spend online overtake traditional media. And that spend is mainly down to the new kid on the marketing block. He's got bigger and grown faster than anyone could have imagined. Right before our very eyes. Although he doesn't own the block (nobody does) he runs it and manipulates it in a ways that are deeply unfathomable yet equally pervasive and comprehensive as any of the bros in The Wire. That kid is Google, well two kids actually, and the block is Marketing. And if you are reading this we are all marketers and it has to be our concern.

Marketing News: Clean data helps Manhattan Associates deliver effective marketing campaigns

A new data maintenance service from CRM Technologies is providing Manhattan Associates' marketing department with a 100%, valid and up-to-date data set - helping them focus on successful campaign execution, without being distracted by data quality or integrity issues. Manhattan Associates use the Salesforce.com tool for its marketing activities. The quality of its campaign responses depend entirely on the quality of information within the database, from the start. The company also needed an up-to-date, single view of each contact on a marketing data set - with accurate information derived from different sources. These issues present them with a real challenge of maintaining effective data integrity. CRM Technologies' data maintenance service takes raw data and cleans, matches, de-dupes and finally combines the data using a pre-defined set of business rules and data standards to ensure that the final records are as complete and accurate as possible.

Marketing News: Generating new sales from existing data

You probably have to generate new sales to ensure positive cash flow! So, how do you generate new sales from existing data? The best thing you can do to generate new business is to contact people who are interested in what you have to offer... sounds logical, but how do you find them? You can spend time digging around, making cold calls to people who don't know you exist. That's a great way of meeting new people and some could well turn into business in the longer term... but you may want to generate business a little quicker. What you should do is contact those people you are already doing business with, have a strong relationship with, and ask them if they need more of what you have to offer... or know someone else that does?
