Marketing News: PREPAID STAR CONTINUES TO RISE AT PREPAY SOLUTIONS
Rachelle Smith has been promoted to Regional Director UK & Ireland at PrePay Solutions, the UK's number one and Europe's leading prepaid services company. Previously the Chief Commercial Specialist for Europe, this is Rachelle's fourth promotion in her five-year history with the organisation.
Performing various sales and management roles throughout her time with PrePay Solutions, which was previously known as PrePay Technologies, Rachelle will continue to work with some of Europe's leading blue-chip companies including Debenhams, Arcadia Group, Sainsbury's, Virgin Money and TUI Travel. She prides her role on her ability to leverage clients' card portfolios and offer new applications in corporate incentives, insurance replacement, promotional activity, payroll, loyalty and prepaid debit solutions.

Marketing News: Expedia has appointed Essence to handle its European online advertising
Expedia, the world's largest online travel company, has appointed Essence to handle its European online advertising including display, partnerships, social media and mobile. This followed a competitive pitch against three other agencies, each with pre-existing relationships with the brand. This is the first time that Essence has worked with Expedia.
Effective immediately the appointment sees Essence responsible for media and creative for the Expedia-branded sites across twelve European countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The activity will also see Essence responsible for a major push in the Nordics.
Essence has been tasked with improving efficiency and growing Expedia's online business across all partnership and display activity, with a particular focus on forging new strategic European and local partnerships with key media players across the various territories.

Marketing News: Adam Crozier : "The guy has proved more than once that he couldnt run a bath,"
ITV has appointed Adam Crozier, the head of Royal Mail and former boss of the FA, as its new chief executive, but not everyone is happy. Crozier, also a former chief executive of ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi, will take up the role later in the year.
The appointment brings an end to ITV's 10-month search for a new chief, but many are wondering how long Crozier will last, with one Gaurdian reader writing into the papers comment section, "The guy has proved more than once that he couldnt run a bath," (confusedbloke).

Positive Digital, part of the Positive Thinking Group, has appointed three new staff to bolster its SEO and PPC offering; Helen Clark, PPC account manager and Matthew Attwell, SEO manager and SEO copywriter Adam Morrell.
Attwell joins from i-level where he was a SEO specialist, and in his new role he will be responsible for search marketing, SEO and PPC, as well as contributing to media analysis and social media strategy for the agency's client base.
Clark, previously paid search manager at , brings both agency and in-house experience with her, having managed paid search for Jackpotjoy.com, part of the Gamesys Group. She will look after paid search at Positive Digital for a number of clients including City Index and Mecca Games
Morrell joins from Barkers where he was responsible for copywriting for clients such as Tesco, Pizza Hut and NHS. He will now take on copyrighting and concepting duties across emails, website and other online materials rights across the client base.

Bausch and Lomb, the global eye health company appoints the multi-disciplined award winning agency SMP, to handle below-the-line activity for its Lens Care EMEA business.
SMP is now tasked with implementing below-the-line campaigns across EMEA including sales promotion, digital and in-store marketing. The agency won the account following a competitive pitch.
