Leading retailer, Asda, is launching a new Asda Magazine recipe website featuring thousands of recipes designed to cater for all the family's tastes. Publicis Blueprint has led the site development, which features sophisticated search functionality to make the customer journey as intuitive as possible. As the lead agency on the Asda Magazine offline and online, which has a readership of more than 6 million, Publicis Blueprint was briefed to develop the new site, which aims to enable users to navigate simply and quickly find the foodie information they're looking for. Categories include "Speedy suppers" and "Family weekday dinners" as well as "Celebrity chef" suggestions. Dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free, are well catered for. The site also offers inspiration for meals, based on key word searches. A beta version of the site garnered upwards of 60,000 visits in a month, through organic search alone.

Candia has launched a marketing campaign for its UHT milk brand Just Milk in a bid to grab a slice of the home-baking market. The firm is to invest £1m in a national press advertising and promotional campaign, the firm said yesterday (9 August), as it looks to capitalise on the resurgence in home baking and cooking. "Our aim is to see more consumers buying Just Milk as a cupboard staple and a cooking ingredient in the same way as sugar and flour," said Marie Garidou, sales and marketing manager for Candia UK. "Consumers are actively searching for healthier products such as Just Milk skimmed milk which delivers the same taste as fresh semi-skimmed milk but without the additional calories. Hence our messaging appeals to the health conscious consumer who doesn't want to compromise on their cooking results."

Specialist digital agency Essence today reveals its animation of the charmingly illustrated Edward Monkton book, "The Pig of Happiness". Giving voice to Giles Andreae's pseudonym Edward Monkton, the film is narrated by the much loved actor Geoffrey Palmer and tells the tale of a very ordinary pig who decides to become extraordinary by spreading the infection of happiness. This is the first of the Edward Monkton books to be reproduced in the film format. With a hand-made feel to the illustration, Essence's animation maintains and reflects the nature of storyteller, Giles Andreae's original drawings. Incorporating the odd flicker to the screen, the film uses a style reminiscent of the stop-frame animation once used in British 80s cartoon, Rhubarb and Custard. Music company Angels Egg's Simon Bass and Zak Kurtha also worked with Essence on the project, providing both the sound and music to accompany the joyful pig animation.
