Marketing News: Australian Business has announced that Australialive will take place in the UK in September
Australialive, previously known as G'day UK is a month long celebration of Australian business, culture and food and wine in September, including a high level CEO Forum focussing on business opportunities in Australia.
The 2010 Australialive UK activity will focus on building trading links between Australia and the UK with an additional focus on food and wine, tourism and the creative industries.
The backers of Australialive are the Australian State Governments, Qantas, Tourism Australia and the Australian Trade Commission, Australian Business and the Australian High Commission in the UK. This year the event is sponsored by Australia's leading banks: ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac Institutional Bank and National Australia Bank.
To celebrate the launch of Australialive, a new website (www.australialive.org) has launched giving more information on the opportunities for doing business with or visiting Australia as well details on forthcoming events.

Marketing News: The future of alcohol marketing?
Alcohol marketing is currently a hot topic, with new laws restricting drinks promotions now in effect in Scotland and the Parliamentary Health Committee due to issue a report on its investigations into the topic soon.
Against that background, the ISP, as members of the Debating Group, is sponsoring a debate on drinks marketing to be held at the House of Commons on Monday October 19, 2009. The debate starts at 6.00pm.
The motion to be debated is:
'Prohibition of alcohol promotions will not encourage consumers to change their behaviour and drink sensibly.'
John Greenway MP will be in the chair. Speaking for the motion will be Elizabeth Crossick, formerly director for government relations and social responsibility at Brown Forman and currently chairwoman of the European Forum for Responsible Drinking (EFRD), and Simon Davies, currently marketing director of Molson Coors UK.
